It all started with an argument. In the year 2012, two close friends named Arin Hanson and Jon Jafari were playing “Super Smash Brothers Brawl” and began arguing heavily about whether the characters Wolf and Fox were clones or not. This future-making argument became so heated that a friend told them to stop being so grumpy over a game; this sparked Arin’s brain to come up with a podcast called “GameGrumps” where they could be as grumpy as they liked, which led to Jafari involving the two’s favoured game commentator TheAngryVideoGameNerd whilst having the podcast theme so that they could go over a range of topics. The fateful channel was created on July the 10th 2012 with the first video being posted on July the 18th – just 8 days later! The fanbase started as a mix of JonTron and Egoraptor fans to give them the boost on their new channel.
